Newly opened buds
drinking gentle
morning rain

Pines across the
way, soaking in
the afternoon sun

Downy woodpecker
perched on newly
found suet feeder

My heart seeing
Your sweet smile
through the window

My doubts fading
as other hearts
intently listen
