A Single Sliver

Which holds more power?

A solitary word
Simple phrase
Image viewed
Likeness stored

Each one can
Wash over me
In a single sliver
Leaving its imprint

A curious question
Lingering ache
Quiet smile
Hopeful sigh

Perhaps the power
Does not lie
With the singular
But instead
In the progression

One word leads
To a memory
One phrase, and
A new image emerges

Tears flowing
Stories shared
Prayers spoken
Hearts healed

  1. I feel this for you, Kelley. As always, you convey β€œhumanity” (love, loss, memories) in such a touching way. The title, the words,…simply placed together. I do love you, Kelley, and your heart. What you do for others, the roles you have, and how your words have impacted me since knowing you. May God bless you and your precious family. From the remembrance, that hurts AND heals, to the new blessing in your life. πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

  2. Dear Kelley,

Sending these words back to you with love,
    “One word leads
    To a memory
    One phrase, and
    A new image emerges”
I see you writing through your grief and it is love I hear.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
