Steady

The entire sky was white
A covering of wisdom
Over travelers below-
I can’t speak for others,
But I was hoping for sunshine-
Not a lesson
In patience
While driving to work
In the rain-
It wasn’t a heavy rain
Just steady, and I must admit,
Peaceful-
For a moment, I pictured
Myself happily walking
In the gentle rain-
The thought made me chuckle
Suddenly, I felt calm
Thankful for rainy lessons
Sent from the wisest of clouds
On a cool Spring morning-
Perhaps the Sun will shine tomorrow

  1. Kelley, I love how you see the world. How your heart and mind observe and stay aware. I think like you. But I can’t put it in poetry form like you do. “Steady.” Hoping for sunshine, but a lesson in patience.
I continue to learn patience after another “hiccup”. Life is lessons isn’t it friend? So I stood out in the rain, and let every gentle drop fall on me. I started laughing and I know Finn thought I was nuts, too.
I did it because I did that as a little girl. My youngest son sent me a video of my granddaughter, wearing a raincoat and rainboots, jumping and giggling on the trampoline in the rain.
The wise clouds just like my wise friend. God bless you, Kelley. 💛🤗🙏🏼
