I carefully watched
Their rapid approach
Unsure if their speed
Would slow enough
For a successful landing-
But I was soon amazed by
How gracefully they glided
Across the pond-
Barely disturbing
Its glassy surface-
I wondered
How far they traveled
How fast they flew
And if their takeoffs
Were as impressive
As their landings
