Crescent-shaped
Shadows
Gracefully swayed
Above the ground
Underneath the trees
On an unexpected canvas
A slab of concrete-gray
And yet, a backdrop
Able to artfully display
This rare masterpiece-
Looking up at the sky
I was in awe of
The heavenly origin
But if my gaze had
Remained in the sky
My soul would have
Missed the beautiful
Transformation
Of the shadows below

this is so good, Kelley; as usual the title — and that stunning photo — drew me in, but it was the descriptions that kept me there and those stunning last lines !!!

Kelley, how beautiful. The shadows were amazing! As always, you described them (and the moment) so amazingly. Much love, dear friend. πππ

You’re welcome, Kelley. I thought of you yesterday while in AR viewing the Eclipse. π

How exciting! We had about 95% viewing. What part were you in?

Due to traffic ;-), we made it to almost Marshall! Between Marshall and Western Grove? It was so fun! I’m so WORN OUT, still. It was miraculous. My daughter-in-law took a picture similar to yours while she, my son, and the two little grands were in Dallas yesterday!

We saw shadows like that back in 2017, but not in this year’s eclipse.βThey’re really interesting, aren’t they?
