Good for the Soul
Evenly spaced rows
Of gently waving wheat
Wonderfully wound
Bales of hay
Equally sided cubes
Childhood toys
Labeled with letters,
Numbers and pictures
Ready to be
Neatly stacked
Then knocked over
Only to be
Stacked again-
Little hands reaching
Sleepyhead resting
On my shoulder
Comforting weight
Beneath the rise and fall
Of sweet slumber-
Calm exists within
The routine
On any given day-
Whether passing by
Or sitting in the center

Kelley, it’s so good to see you. Your pictures and words are always priceless. There’s a love and joy in all of it that goes so deep. It brings tears to my eyes. Your words and life are “good for the soul” for all of us blessed to be a part of your journey. She’s so darling, Kelley. Sending love and prayers, always. Karla π

You’re welcome, Kelley. We had a family funeral this weekend and my oldest son was with me 3 nights (my youngest wasn’t able to attend). It’s been 9 years since just the 2 of us–my heart was filled with family all weekend. I thought of you. I’m so glad your soul was filled this weekend, too. Take care, my friend. πβ¨ππ
